Key Scripture: And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit. [2 Corinthians 3:18]
Beyond simply dwelling in God’s presence, He desires to transform us through it. As we fix our eyes on Him, immersing ourselves in His Word, we are changed from glory to glory. This transformation is not by our own efforts but through the work of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus reminds us:
"Apart from me, you can do nothing." John 15:5
As we abide in Christ and allow His Spirit to work in us, we begin to reflect His character and purpose. The more we seek Him, the more we are shaped into His image.
Just as David longed for God’s presence (Psalm 27:4), let us also desire to grow in Him daily.
But how does this transformation take place? Through His living and powerful Word.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. [2 Timothy 3:16-17]
God’s Word is not just text on a page it is alive and active. It penetrates our hearts, convicts us, and shapes us into Christ’s image.
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. [Hebrews 4:12]
As we immerse ourselves in His Word, our minds are renewed, and we begin to walk in alignment with His will.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, his good, pleasing and perfect will. [Romans 12:2]
God calls us to a life of continual transformation. One that happens as we dwell in His presence and allow His Word to shape us.
