For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness. [Psalm 84:10]
As we begin this month's journey, let's reflect on what it means to dwell in God's presence. The Hebrew word "MISHKAN" reminds us of the sacred space where God's presence resides.
In Psalm 84:10, the psalmist expresses a deep longing to be in God's presence. He would rather be a humble doorkeeper in God's house than live in the midst of wickedness.
This verse challenges us to evaluate our priorities. Where do we truly desire to dwell? In the presence of God, or in the midst of worldly distractions?
As we seek to dwell in God's presence, let's remember that God desires to dwell among us. [Exodus 25:8]
God's presence is our greatest blessing [Psalm 84:4]
God's presence gives us strength and courage [Psalm 18:2]
Beloved, as you reflect on your desire to dwell in God's presence, remember Jesus' promise: "Abide in me, and I in you" [John 15:4].
So, what steps can you take today to abide in God's presence and cultivate a deeper relationship with Him?
PRAY THIS: Dear God of Host, I long to dwell in Your presence. Help me to prioritize my relationship with You and to cultivate a heart that is attentive to Your voice. May Your presence be my greatest desire in Jesus matchless name. Amen!!!
