Key
Scripture: Do
not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of
your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his
good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans
12:2 NIV)
God’s
grace does not just save us; it changes us. When we receive His grace, we are
no longer the same. His Spirit begins a work of transformation in us, shaping
us to reflect the character of Christ.
Romans
12:2 tells us that we should not conform to the patterns of this world but
instead be transformed by the renewing of our minds. This renewal happens as we
draw closer to God and allow His Word to shape our thoughts, desires, and
actions. Grace does not leave us in our old ways; it empowers us to live
differently.
In 2
Corinthians 5:17, Paul writes, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the
new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here." This means
that through grace, our past mistakes, failures, and sins no longer define us.
Instead, we are given a new identity in Christ.
God’s
grace not only forgives but also strengthens us to walk in righteousness. Titus
2:11-12 explains, "For the grace of God has appeared that offers
salvation to all people. It teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly
passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present
age." His grace is both a gift and a teacher, leading us into a life
that honors Him.
