The Race Of Life

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. [James 1:12]

Life is a journey, my dear. It's a path we walk from the moment we're born
until the day we breathe our last. And like any journey, it has its ups and
downs, its twists and turns. But the question is, are we just wandering
through life without a purpose, or are we running with direction and intention?

In 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, Paul uses the metaphor of a race to describe our
Christian journey. He says, 'Do you not know that in a race all the runners
run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.' Paul
is urging us to run our race with purpose and direction, with our eyes fixed on the prize.

But what does it mean to run the race of life?
It means to live with intention
and purpose. It means to set goals and work towards them. It means to
persevere through obstacles and challenges. It means to stay focused on what's ahead, rather than getting bogged down in the past.

Think about it like a physical race. When you're running a race, you don't
look back at how far you've come; you look ahead at how far you still have
to go. You don't focus on the obstacles in your path; you focus on the finish line. And you don't give up, no matter how hard it gets; you keep pushing forward, one step at a time.

That's what it means to run the race of life. It's not always easy, but it's
worth it. Because the prize we're running towards is not just any prize -it's the prize of eternal life in Christ Jesus. And that's a prize worth fighting for."

SAY THIS: I will stay focused on what's ahead, rather than getting bogged down in the past.
