Title: Standing in the Gap; The Power of intercessory prayer

Bible text: Ezekiel 22:30
And I sought a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.

What does it mean to stand in the gap?

In Psalm 106:23, it says, "Therefore he said that he would destroy them[And He would have done so], had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them." Moses stood in the gap for Israel, interceding on their behalf.

God is seeking intercessors. He is seeking those who will stand in the gap, who will pray on behalf of others.

In 1 Timothy 2:1-2, we are commanded to "make supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings for all men." And in Luke 18:1-8, Jesus teaches us to "pray always and not lose heart."

So let us rise up, dear brothers and sisters! Let us stand in the gap! Let us pray without ceasing for our families, our communities, our nation, and our world.

Intercessory prayer is a powerful weapon against spiritual darkness, personal struggles, relational brokenness, and societal decay.

May God find us faithful, standing in the gap, making up the hedge, and praying for His love and grace to pour out upon our lives and the lives of those around us...AMEN!
